“Sovereign Hand” is a 16x20" original acrylic painting that portrays the Earth gently upheld in the palm of God's hand—a symbol of divine authority, compassion, and protection. Through swirling blues and grounded continents, this piece whispers a message that the world is not spinning out of control—it is held, guided, and loved by a holy hand.
The inspiration behind this piece is rooted in the very moment Jesus stepped into His ministry. He stood in the synagogue and read aloud from Isaiah 61:1–2, declaring His anointing to preach, heal, comfort, and set captives free (Luke 4:18–19). He concluded with these earth-shaking words: “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” (Luke 4:21) — a bold declaration that marked the beginning of His mission, and a model for ours.
Jesus did what He saw the Father doing. And we are called to do the same.
To be anointed means to be chosen, officially appointed for a sacred task. To preach means to proclaim boldly and publicly. To be sent implies movement, obedience, and purpose. We are commissioned to heal, to proclaim, to comfort, to console, and to exchange ashes for beauty, mourning for joy, heaviness for praise. Garments of praise don’t fold themselves—we must actively put them on. We worship not just to express joy but to lift heaviness.
This painting is more than a message—it’s a mission. A visual reminder that Jesus healed the one who arrested Him, served the one who betrayed Him, and loved the world that crucified Him. And He calls us to walk that same road.
He commissioned His disciples to:
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons.” — Matthew 10:8
We are not called to wait until we have it all together. We only need to be one step ahead to help lift another. There is a tsunami of trauma around us, and the church must stop burying its own wounds to begin tending to the wounds of others. Healing flows through relationships because we are wounded in relationships, and we are also healed in relationships.
“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.” — 2 Corinthians 1:4
The world doesn’t need polished perfection—it needs brave, compassionate people who are willing to love deeply and well. Who know how to listen, pray, and pull down strongholds not with might, but with mercy. Because these signs will follow those who believe:
“They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” — Mark 16:18
“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” — James 5:13–16
Sovereign Hand is more than wall art. It's a commission in colour—a daily invitation to go, to speak, to love, and to heal just as Jesus did.
