A Humble Yes

When God Uses Our Willingness

I wasn’t the obvious choice.

This afternoon, my friend needed prayer ministry — and immediately, fear crept in. That familiar voice in my head started whispering: “You’re not experienced enough. Let someone else handle this. Someone who knows what they’re doing.” For a moment, I considered stepping back. Letting it pass to someone more “qualified.” But then, gently, God reminded me—it’s not about my qualifications. It’s about His presence.

So I said yes.

My friend, Ester and I joined hands in faith, and together we entered into sacred space — a space of trust, vulnerability, and divine possibility. As we prayed, something shifted. Heaven leaned in. God moved — not because we were perfect, but because we were willing. It was one of those moments that lingers in your spirit, where you know deep down something eternal just happened.

I saw glimmers of a breakthrough in my friend’s eyes — like light cracking through a once-locked door. Her journey to healing and freedom has only just begun, but I believe with all my heart that the Lord met her there in power and tenderness.

And I’m left in awe. Not of myself — never that — but of the God who partners with our small yeses to do mighty things.

This is the wonder of the Gospel. That the King of kings chooses us, fearful, flawed, fumbling us — to be His hands and feet. That He delights in using our trembling obedience to bring hope and restoration to others.

It’s humbling beyond words. And such an honour.

If you’re feeling like you’re not enough — too small, too unskilled, too afraid—let me gently remind you: all God needs is your yes. He’ll take care of the rest.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV)
