A Humble Yes

When God Uses Our Willingness

"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."

2 Corinthians 12:9

It’s astonishing, isn’t it? 🤔 That our yes, however feeble it may feel, is enough for Him to work with. That He delights in showing up through our weakness, using it as a vessel for His strength. My friend’s journey toward healing has only just begun, but I believe it was divinely ignited in that moment. And I was privileged to witness it.

We often disqualify ourselves before we’ve even begun. But God isn’t looking for polished performances. He’s seeking surrendered hearts. And every time we choose to show up with our mustard seed of faith, He does the rest.

Last week I stood at a crossroads. A dear friend needed prayer ministry, and my first instinct was to shrink back. I wanted to hand the responsibility over to someone with more experience, more confidence — more anything, really. I felt that old inner voice rise up, the one that tells me I’m not quite enough.

But something within me whispered another truth. Say yes. Not because I had all the answers, but because God would meet us there.

So I did.

This afternoon, Ester and I joined hearts and hands, and as we prayed, the Spirit of God moved so tangibly it brought tears to our eyes. There was a deep work happening — quiet, tender, profound. And I knew in that sacred moment, God wasn’t looking for perfection. He was simply looking for availability.

Creative Prompt:

Take a few moments to reflect on a time when you felt unqualified but said yes anyway. Journal about how God met you there. Then, using watercolours or pastels, create a simple image that represents surrender—a key, an open door, or even open hands. Let it remind you that your willingness is enough.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, thank You that You don’t ask for perfection—only obedience. Thank You for using my trembling yes to bring hope and healing to others. Forgive me for the times I’ve disqualified myself out of fear or comparison. Teach me to trust Your strength in my weakness. May I walk in confidence, knowing You delight in partnering with my availability. Let every small yes I offer become a doorway for Your grace to flow.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
