📖 “He breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”
John 20:22

Breath. That first gift. That invisible thread between heaven and earth. We so often overlook it, don’t we? 🤔
The gentle rhythm beneath our racing thoughts, our striving, our weariness.
And yet, it’s the first thing God ever gave Adam — the breath of life. It’s the one thing we carry with us every moment, often unnoticed but always present.
There are days when everything feels like too much. When even lifting a prayer feels like more than we can muster. Days when the noise outside and the noise within collide in a kind of holy exhaustion. But in those moments, there is a quiet invitation to return and to the breath. To return to His breath.
📖 "The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life." — Job 33:4 (NIV)
I’ve had many moments like that — days when I felt so frayed that I couldn’t find the words. I was clinging to a rope so slippery, it felt like someone had greased it just for fun, but then I remembered: I don’t have to have the words. I just have to breathe and to let the Holy Spirit fill what I cannot. I could leg go and let Him do what only He can in and through me.
📖 "Be still and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
I picture Jesus, after the resurrection, standing in that room of fear-filled disciples. They were not bold, not ready, not praying powerful prayers. They were hiding. Unsure. Unsteady. And that is when He breathed on them. Not when they had it together but when they were unravelled. He didn’t ask for their courage first — He gave them peace.
He gave them His breath and He still does.
Every inhale can be a receiving: “I am loved.”
Every exhale, a surrender: “I release control.”
Beloved, you are not behind. You are not broken beyond mending.
You are being revived.
Let His breath steady yours.
Let His Spirit fill the gaps where your strength ends.
Breathe. Be still. And know.

“Midnight Beacon: Auckland Sky Tower” gently reflects the mystery and calm of breathing in God’s presence. The moon, luminous yet softly radiant, reminds us of the quiet yet constant presence of the Holy Spirit — a guiding, comforting light even in the dark moments of uncertainty. Just as the moon pulls the tides, unseen but felt deeply, the breath of God moves within us, bringing peace and order to our restless hearts. The tower, grounded yet reaching upwards, symbolises our longing for connection between earth and heaven, mirroring how our breath joins us intimately with the divine. Let this painting remind you that in every quiet breath lies the sacred whisper of God saying, “I am here, breathing with you.”
