Threads of Becoming

Gathering the Golden Seams of a Year Woven by Grace

2015 was a year of becoming — not through grand achievements, but through a thousand small moments of surrender. Like a potter shaping clay, God’s hands worked gently yet firmly, pressing, refining, and moulding my heart. Each trial, tear, and triumph became part of His design, forming golden seams where I once saw only cracks.

📖 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

This year taught me that healing is not linear; it ebbs and flows like the tide, sometimes drawing back to reveal deeper layers still needing light. I rediscovered my creative spark — the tender flicker of art, colour, and song that once lay buried under exhaustion and doubt. It became not only a refuge, but a way to reconnect with God’s breath within me — His Spirit whispering truth through brushes, textures, and words.

Family, too, was both my soft place to land and my greatest classroom. The challenges within relationships revealed how love is not a feeling to be protected but a choice to be extended — even when misunderstood. Through every conflict and reconciliation, I learned more about the heart of Christ, who loves fully, forgives freely, and never gives up on His children.

📖 “Above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’” — 1 Peter 4:8 (NKJV)

Community became an anchor this year — not crowds, but kindred souls who saw past the mask and reminded me that I wasn’t alone in the journey. I began to glimpse the ministry within my own story, realising that even pain, when surrendered to God, can become a wellspring of empathy for others.

Faith deepened as I learned to rest rather than strive. There were moments when I could barely whisper a prayer, yet His presence met me in the silence. I began to understand that faith is not the absence of fear, but the courage to keep walking — even when the path is shrouded in mist.

📖 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)

As I look back, I see the fingerprints of grace on every page — in lessons learned through pain, in laughter shared over simple meals, and in the quiet assurance that I am being restored. What once felt like endings were, in truth, beginnings in disguise. The year’s tapestry is imperfect, yet stunningly sacred — every loose thread a reminder of His ongoing work in me.

So I close this year with gratitude — for faith that anchors, love that stretches, creativity that heals, and courage that rises even from the ashes. 2015 may have been a year of breaking, but it was also the beginning of becoming whole.

🤲🏻Prayer of Release

Father, thank You for walking beside me through every storm and sunrise of this year. Teach me to carry forward the wisdom of each experience and to leave behind the weight of what no longer serves Your purpose. Fill my heart with renewed faith, creative joy, and grace for the journey ahead. May the coming year be marked by deeper healing and fuller surrender.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
