Rejecting violence and the celebration of harm

I am appalled. Social media, a place meant to connect people, has instead become a breeding ground for mockery and cruelty whenever someone dies. To watch laughing emojis, careless comments, and even celebrations in response to the death of a 31-year-old husband and father is heartbreaking.
There is something deeply wrong when a person is not allowed to freely hold or teach a different view without fear of being silenced by violence. Murder is never justice. Violence is never the answer.
I didn’t follow Charlie Kirk closely, and I didn’t care what his political or religious views were. What was done is insanity and absolutely unacceptable. Children lost their father. A wife lost her husband. A man was murdered because his killer could not accept his beliefs.
If you celebrate the death or public execution of anyone who used words, not violence, then you are part of the problem. Please unfollow me.
Instead, may we choose another way:
To pray for peace.
To comfort the grieving.
To speak words of life when others speak rage.
📖 "You shall not murder." — Exodus 20:13 (NKJV)
As I scroll through the comments, my stomach churns. The things people type from behind their screens reveal a chilling truth:
“Think like me or die.”
“Stay silent or die.”
“Promote what I believe… or die.”
“He had it coming.”
Evil has no bounds. These are absolute demonic responses, showing a careless disregard for human life.
Yet even in this darkness, I cling to peace: Charlie was a believer. The moment he left this earth, he heard his Saviour’s voice: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
📖 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain." — John 12:24 (NKJV)
And what gives me hope in this darkness is knowing that even in tragedy, God brings forth life is quietly reassuring. A single seed sown can multiply into a harvest of new beginnings. God truly does use all things for good, even when our hearts ache with loss.
🎺A Call to Courage
We cannot let this moment pass us by. May we pick up and carry the torch he held. May we boldly speak our faith and truth. May we refuse to be silenced by fear or hatred. May a fire be lit within us to be courageous and steadfast from this moment forward.
🙌Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, we lift before You every grieving heart touched by violence. Restore compassion where callousness has taken root. Remind us of the value of every soul, created in Your image. May our words bring peace, our actions reflect Your love, and our witness point always to the sanctity of life. Bring forth a harvest of lives transformed, even in the shadow of sorrow.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
