Seeing Differently

A reflection on how what some call weakness, others see as a gift

We live in a world quick to label. Too quiet. Too sensitive. Too weird. Too confident. These words echo in our hearts and often leave us wondering if we are somehow broken. Yet the truth is, God never once made a mistake in how He designed us.
For every person who says you are too quiet, there is another who treasures your gift of listening. Where some see too sensitive, others see the courage to feel deeply and love fully. To the one who calls you too confident, another will look up and find hope in your strength. The very things the world critiques can be the exact balm another soul has prayed for.
Our worth cannot rest in the shifting opinions of people. If it does, we are tossed like a boat in restless waters. Instead, when we anchor ourselves in Christ, we stand firm and steady. He has named us, formed us, and called us His workmanship.
📖 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
I am reminded again of the values that shape my life — faith, love, compassion, creativity, courage, and integrity. These qualities were not accidents; they were intentional gifts placed in me by God. What others may dismiss as too much can, in His hands, become just right.
💡Reflection for You
Take a moment today to notice the labels you have carried — too much, not enough, too different. Ask God to reveal how He sees those very parts of you. You may discover they are gifts meant to bless others.
🎨Creative Prompt
Sketch or paint a clay vessel on the potter’s wheel. Around it, write the words people may have spoken over you. Then, on the vessel itself, write the words God speaks: Beloved. Chosen. Beautifully Made.
🙌🏻Closing Prayer
Father, thank You that I am Your workmanship. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and not through the shifting lens of others. Shape me as the Potter shapes the clay, and let my life reflect Your design. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
You are not defined by labels. You are defined by the loving hands that formed you. Walk boldly in the beauty of who He made you to be.
