There is a melody that often rises up in my heart:🎼 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and they are safe.” 🎶
It’s more than a song; it is Scripture woven into music, anchoring me when life feels overwhelming.
📖 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.” — Proverbs 18:10 (NKJV)
The Tower That Holds Us Secure
We all seek safety. Some of us try to find it in relationships, finances, routines, or control. Yet these “towers” crumble when storms press in. Proverbs 18:10 reminds us that true safety doesn’t rest on our striving but on His Name.
His Name is more than a label — it carries His authority, His character, and His faithfulness. To run into His Name is to choose trust over fear, to place our confidence in the God who never changes.
Running, Not Walking
Notice how the verse says the righteous run. It isn’t a slow or hesitant step; it’s urgent, intentional, and desperate. We don’t tiptoe to His presence; we run, because we know He alone is our secure refuge.
I’ve discovered that when I run to Him, I don’t just find safety — I find peace, belonging, and the reminder that I am deeply loved. His tower is never closed, never out of reach, never too far away.
An Invitation for Today
Where are you seeking safety right now? Is it in things that can be shaken, or in the eternal One who is unshakable? His Name is the place where fear surrenders and the heart is held.
💡Reflection Prompt:
Think about the last time you felt overwhelmed.
Where did you run first — to distractions, to people, to yourself, or to Him?🤔
What would it look like for you to make His Name your first refuge today?🤔
Beloved, you are safe in Him. Whatever storm swirls outside, know that His Name holds you fast. Run to Him, and let His strong tower become your song of peace today.
🙌🏻Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that Your Name is a tower of strength and safety for my heart. Teach me to run quickly to You when I feel afraid or weary. Wrap me in the light of Your presence and remind me that I am secure in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
