Extend Your Wings

A prophetic blessing of freedom and childlike delight

ree

Not long ago, a prophetic word was spoken over me. It began with something as simple as the pattern on my top — but what was seen looked like wings. Eagle’s wings. Immediately, the Lord began to speak through that picture: “You will rise up on eagle’s wings.”

📖 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

The words pierced deep. They named what I had often felt: my wings clipped. Circumstances, people, even the enemy had sought to limit the freedom God placed inside me — freedom to love fully, create openly, worship unashamedly. At times, I felt restricted, like I could not extend my wings to their full length.

Yet God’s voice broke through: “You can extend your wings once again to the full length.”

The prophecy even mentioned the Haast Eagle — once the largest eagle in the world, found here in New Zealand. Though now extinct, its memory carries prophetic significance: a reminder that God has placed a strength and a calling in me that is not small or fragile. It is unique, powerful, and designed to soar.

What struck me most was the Father’s heart behind it. He reminded me that I am His little girl, dancing before Him. Not judged. Not shamed. Not compared, but simply delighted in. Like parents who beam at a child twirling across the lounge, so my Father beams at me when I dance, paint, or worship before Him.

The sideways glances, the jealous whispers, the religious frowns — all those things lose their weight in the light of His love. He does not look at me with condemnation but with joy. He calls me back to the playfulness and purity of childlike freedom.

This is the invitation: to rise, to create, to worship, to love without fear. To extend my wings and fly in the freedom Jesus secured for me.

✍️Journaling Prompt:

When have you felt your “wings clipped” in life, creativity, or faith? 🤔

Take a moment to write what it would look like for you to extend them again — what freedom in Christ might feel like if you lived unashamed, fully loved, and fully alive.

Friend, your Father delights in you. He is not waiting for you to perform perfectly — He is already smiling as you take your first small steps of freedom. Whether you dance, sing, write, paint, or simply rest in His presence, know this: He enjoys you. Extend your wings again, and let Him carry you higher than you’ve ever imagined.

💡Prayer:

Father, thank You for healing the clipped places of my wings. Thank You for delighting in me as Your beloved daughter. Teach me to live in freedom, to dance with joy, and to create without fear. May my life carry the fragrance of childlike worship that draws others into Your love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
